i feel guilty…

not updating this blog even when I’m busy. On the other hand, I’m also a little pissed that very few people leave comments. A big thanks to my regular commentators 🙂 I get over 100 unique visits per day & hardly any comments. I know someone is reading this… somewhere…

Last Friday I received the apostille for my residency application. As I’m giving it to my lawyer tomorrow to be translated, I thought I’d post a photo. It looks a little fake, doesn’t it? What it does is certify that the notary public who stamped my criminal history record is indeed legit. There was an international agreement that this kind of thing is valid rather than having the consulate do all the work. Whatever. All I know is that it was only $15 to get it done, & Federal Express charged me $63 to get it to Buenos Aires. Not even overnight! Somehow that seems wrong… bastards.

Another food discovery for me… salami-flavored potato chips. Seriously. What’s even more bizarre is that they really do taste like salami & cheese. The only ingredients are potatoes, vegetable oil & “seasonings.” Spooky. I eat potato chips about 4 times per year, & this is definitely not my favorite flavor. But I found it hard to resist. Tandilero refers to the town of Tandil, a few hours south of Buenos Aires. They’re known for their processed meats & cheeses. I’ve got a standing invitation to go there from some friends of Fabio, but I haven’t made it yet. I’ll bet the real deal is better.

Another wine discovery too… a rosé made with Malbec. Muy tasty. I even bought a case. And I thought a Syrah rosé was good.
